Salvini was not pleased with winner of Sanremo festival

Mahmood won the 69th edition of Italy’s Sanremo festival. The singer’s success appeared that it was not welcomed by Interior Minister, Matteo Salvini.

As the Sanremo winner was announced, Salvini questioned on Twitter whether this was the best song.

Mahmood, who has an Egyptian father and an Italian mother, won the festival with the song ‘Soldi’.

Ultimo won second place, while Il Volo who won Sanremo four years ago, placed third.

During the final night, Sanremo festival saw great performances by Eros Ramazzotti and Luis Fonsi.
