Second man arraigned in Court on Marsa murder

A Somali man was today arraigned in Court accused with the murder of a Sudanese man on the night of the 29th November at Marsa.

22-year old Abdi Sudi Mohamed is the second Somali national accused with the murder of Bakry Bashir Alnur, aged 25. The first suspect, 23-year old Kinaan Abdinasir Noor, was arraigned in Court last Monday. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody.

It emerged in Court that Mohamed had robed the victim and when the later chased them, they assaulted and stabbed him with a scissor.

During the court’s session, presided by Magistrate Ian Farrugia, Mohamed also pleaded not guilty and did not request his release from custody. He was assisted by legal assistance lawyer, Benjamin Valencia.

Police investigations on this case are ongoing as a third person is also suspected to be involved in the murder.
