
A security officer sustained injuries during an attempted robbery from a Birkirkara establishment. The case occurred in the Eurosport shop in Salvu Psaila Street at about 5.10 p.m.
It is understood that the security officer, a 46-year-old man from Qrendi, stopped two men who were attempting to steal some clothing items.
Whilst the officer was holding them until the Police turned up, the men assaulted him and made their escape. The officer was treated for his injuries at a health centre.
TVM is informed the Police are carrying out a search for the two men, with the help of video footage from security cameras.
