Somalia: Suicide bomber crashes explosives-filled car into hotel

At least seven persons have been killed in an attack on a hotel in Southern Somalia, among them Somali-Canadian TV journalist Hodan Nalayeh.

A suicide bomber crashed an explosives-filled vehicle into the Asasey hotel in Kismayo port, and armed men then stormed into the hotel.

Nalayeh and her husband are among those reported killed in the attack. The Islamic group al-Shabab has assumed responsibility.
