The southbound lane in Buqana Road, in the direction of Mosta to Mgarr and Mtarfa has reopened.
In a statement, Infrastructure Malta said that the € 3.6 million project for the road to be resurfaced and rebuilt was in its final phase.
This investment includes widening the road to add a new lane in the northern direction, from Mtarfa towards Mosta, and a new bicycle lane on the same side.
The roundabouts on the road’s periphery are being redesigned and rebuilt with safer lanes and carriageways for cars and bicycles. The agency is also rebuilding the Chadwick Lakes bridge.
The Buqana project is being financed by the European Union, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
