Almost 1,500 students from among the 10,000 who sat for MATSEC Examinations have responded to a survey dealing with various aspects of the examinations system. This is the third year that feedback has been gathered to enable analysis and the first time the results have been published.
In their responses the majority of students agreed with the structure of the matriculation certificate but expressed their disagreement that Systems of Knowledge is obligatory. In general the students also agreed to the location of exam halls but there were some complaints about excessive noise and traffic congestion.
The majority also said they prefer oral exams to be held on a ‘live’ basis rather than through the use of audio-recording.
