Students, migrants, Police officers and politicians join forces to clean up their localities
A number of persons from various walks of life today joined forces to clean up their localities.
The group included University of Malta students in European Studies, who got together today to clean up the area around A.M. Valperga in Fgura, together with the locality’s councillors.
A full morning’s work resulted in the collection of an amount of bulky refuse, including furniture, tyres and construction waste, as well as a considerable quantity of plastic.
Meanwhile, clean-ups were also carried out in the areas of Ħal Far in Birżebbuġa, this time on the initiative of the locality’s cleaning group, which carries out clean-ups on a regular basis.
This initiative was supported by and saw the participation of numerous volunteers, including students, a sizeable group of migrants, Community Police and councillors, as well as Minister Julia Farrugia Portelli.
