Sum of € 2,507,254 collected during sports marathon in aid of Puttinu Cares
The sum of € 2,507,254 was collected during the 60 hours football and volleyball marathon held in aid of the Puttinu Cares Foundation.
The final sum was announced during the continuous live transmission on all the TV stations which had been going non-stop since Friday. The aim behind the fundraising is a project to provide accommodation in the heart of London so that the relatives of patients who require an operation at one of London’s hospitals will have somewhere to stay.
Officials from Puttinu Cares told TVM that right now work is underway to locate a suitable property which will be purchased by the end of this year. As soon as the property has been purchased, the project will begin and is expected to be completed within two to three years.
More than 400 teams took part in the marathon which included the participation of 300 volunteers.
