Supporters gather outside National Labour Centre in show of support for PM

A crowd of supporters congregated in front of the National Labour Centre this evening, in a show of support for Prime Minister and Labour Party leader Joseph Muscat, MPs and the Party administration. On their arrival from Parliament at the National Labour Centre for a meeting of the Party’s National Executive, they were accorded a warm welcome.

The meeting of the Labour Party’s National Executive is discussing and drawing up a schedule for the process leading to the election of a new leader of the Labour Party, which will be held on 12 January.

This will be the first time that all members of the Party who have been paid-up members for at least five years will be able to take part in the election of a leader of the Labour Party. According to the statute, members will be voting to choose one of two finalist candidates in the final phase of the election.
