During the first 11 months of this year Government registered a surplus of nearly 85 million euro.
Figures released by the National Statistics Office show that improvement continued in the consolidated fund because Government’s rate of income was far greater than expenditure.
In fact between January and November Government income increased by over 421 million euro, whilst expenditure increased by over 276 million euro, of which ten million euro related to expenditure of a capital nature.
The statistics also show that the debt burden continued to decrease, and during the first 11 months there was a savinf of nearly nine million euro in interest on Government debt.
The figures show that Government debt during the past year dropped by nearly 123 million euro when compared with November of last year.
