Swim in aid of the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation

The closer we get to Christmas, the more fund-raising activities are being held for charity… including the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation, the beneficiary of the Santa Swim activity now in its tenth year.

On Sunday morning a number of people jumped into the sea for this noble activity. Some took the plunge but found the water too cold, and were back on dry land seconds later. Others were more resilient, and choose to swim around the harbour.

This activity at the Hotel Excelsior got together current and former water polo players, who ended up playing against each other. President George Vella and Mrs Vella followed the activity and encouraged those who were prepared to brave the cold water.

The Vilhena Philharmonic Society Band of Floriana enlivened proceedings with a selection of Christmas melodies.
