A meeting was held in Moscow on Monday between Dr Alex Sceberras Trigona and Alexander Grushko, the Russian deputy Foreign Minister, on the same day that it was reported that Malta refused a request from Russia to use the Maltese air space for military aircraft flights to Venezuela.
A Russian Foreign Affairs Ministry statement said that the meeting with the Maltese Prime Minister’s envoy focused on bilateral issues between the two countries, and how these issues can be solved. It was pointed out that during the meeting they discussed relations between Russia and the European Union, OSCE and the Council of Europe.
