Jailed for three-and-a-half years for breaching probation conditions

Lorita Pace, 35 years old from Valletta, has been condemned to three-and-a-half years’ imprisonment after breaching probation regulations. In March of 2017 a sentence of two years and eight months’ imprisonment was revoked by the Court of Appeal and she was instead placed on probation for a period of three years because of her drugs abuse. This was after she was found complicit with two other men in the theft of a handbag from an elderly 74-year-old woman in Floriana.

However, Pace discontinued from attending sessions at Mount Carmel Hospital and broke off contact with Sedqa and her probation official. Judge Giovanni Grixti said it is clear the accused had not learnt from her past mistakes and had not tried to reform.
