Young woman arrested and arraigned after violently resisting Police

Jeanine Borg, a 21-year-old on-line dealer from Cospicua was arraigned in Court under arrest to be charged with violently resisting a female constable in Triq Elija Zammit, Paceville at 4 am this morning.

She was also accused of being drunk and disorderly and of using obscene and indecent language.

Borg did not admit the allegations and requested freedom from arrest. Her Defence Counsel pleaded she had a record of good conduct.

The Prosecution objected to the request on grounds that her actions constituted a serious offence and that if her request were granted this would be conditional to a Protection Order being issued in favour of the female constable involved.

The Court granted freedom from arrest against a deposit of €500 and a personal guarantee of €5,000.
