The Medicines Authority is investigating case of person suffering from thrombosis after taking vaccine
The Malta Medicines Authority is investigating the case of a person, aged 58, who is suffering from thrombosis.
In a statement, the Ministry of Health said that the person, who is in stable condition, took the first dose of the vaccine against Covid-19 two weeks ago, and therefore the case was reported to the Medicines Authority to investigate whether there is a link.
The health authorities pointed out that the European Medicines Authority has continued to give the advice that the risks of the vaccine are rare and much less than the risks linked to actually contracting the virus.
They added that the advice of the experts continues to be that the vaccine is the only effective way to fight against the virus.
