Thousands evacuated as raging fires spread in Oregon USA

In the U.S. state of Oregon, more than 2,000 firefighters are working against the clock to extinguish one of the largest fires in state history – the so-called Bootleg Fire.

Thousands of people have been evacuated from their homes since the fire broke out on the sixth of July and have already burned an area larger than the city of Los Angeles.

This is one of more than 80 fires that have erupted in thirteen U.S. states, in many instances due to the heat wave and strong wind.
