Two people were taken to Mater Dei after being involved in a traffic accident last night.
At around 7.30pm the Police were informed that there had been a collision between four cars and a bus and that some people were injured. The accident happened in Triq il-Mosta, St Paul’s Bay, which for some time had to be closed to traffic.
From initial information it appears that there had been a collision between a Kia Sportage, driven by a 60-year-old man who lives in Naxxar, a Daco Sandero, driven by an Italian man, aged 29, who lives in Zebbug, and a Mazda Demio driven by a 25-year-old man resident in Naxxar.
As a result of the accident a bus was hit, and a third parked car, a Chevrolet, was also damaged.
A 59-year-old woman who lives in Naxxar was a passenger in the Kia. Sportage.
Ambulances, police officers and a crew form the Civil Protection Department arrived who had to cut out the door of the Daco Sandero, to pull the driver out from the wreckage. He was taken to the hospital as were the couple who were in the Kia Sportage. The woman was certified to have slight injuries and the man had serious injuries.
The other people involved in the accident were not injured.
