Three Maltese hunters arrested in Argentina

Three Maltese hunters were arrested in Argentina for having in their possession a number of embalmed protected birds, which were found in their suitcase before their departure.

The Times this morning reported that the Home Affairs Ministry has confirmed that the hunters went to Argentina a month ago and are currently undergoing court proceedings after being caught with the protected birds. The hunters formed part of a larger group which was not allowed to leave the country and which had their passports confiscated.

The Ministry for Home Affairs said that it was following the case and giving assistance to the Maltese nationals.
