Three men accused of murdering Daphne Caruana Galizia are formally charged

The Attorney General has issued a formal bill of indictment against the three men accused of murdering Daphne Caruana Galizia who was killed by a car bomb in Bidnija, 21 months ago.

The indictment against Vince Muscat, George Degiorgio and Alfred Degiorgio was presented in Court and to the accused this morning following a compilation of evidence which has been ongoing since December 2017. At this stage, this means that there is enough evidence for the three men to stand trial.

They are accused of making and placing the car bomb which killed Mrs Caruana Galizia on 16 October 2017. The Court has repeatedly denied the requests for bail made by the accused’s lawyers.
