Three men pretend to be bishop and abbot to celebrate Mass and receive donations
In the recent days visits were made at some churches and convents in Malta by three men who presented themselves as a Benedictine abbot, a bishop and a clergyman.
In the Church in Malta site it was pointed out that the bishop is introducing himself as a person from Cospicua. These persons are asking to pray with the community and even celebrate Mass. They also speak with superiors on projects they have in mind and about funds with the hope of being given a donation.
The site added that these persons are not validly ordained and therefore should not be allowed to celebrate the Sacraments. They should be refused entry in sections of convents and monasteries if, the site said, one does not know who they are.
