Three new patients with Coronavirus in Malta – total of 21 cases

There have been three new cases of persons infected with the Coronavirus.

This was confirmed by Superintendent of Health Charmaine Gauci during a media conference at Mater Dei hospital.

The number of cases in Malta has now gone up to 21, two of whom have recovered.

All the cases have been imported from abroad.

One of the patients is a 23-year-old male who returned from Dublin. The youth, who is a healthcare worker, came back to Malta on 10 March and started showing symptoms on 14 March. He quarantined himself, and his family is also quarantined.

Professor Gauci stressed on the importance of quarantine in the present situation, in order to ensure the virus does not continue to spread.
