Three young men arrested for stealing fuel from petrol stations

The Police will shortly be arraigning three young men, aged between 19 – 21, after they were arrested in connection with stealing fuel from petrol stations between March and June 2020.

In a statement, the Police said that following a lengthy investigation by the Major Crimes Squad, three people who were allegedly carrying out these thefts were identified.

In the last few hours, the Police arrested a 19-year-old teenager, resident in Zejtun.

From the investigations, it resulted that over several days in March 2020, he allegedly stole fuel from a petrol station in Triq il-Belt Valletta, Zurrieq, while together with two other youngsters, over several days in June, he allegedly stole from another petrol station in Triq Aldo Moro, Marsa.

Further investigations showed that the two young men, aged 21, resident in Cospicua and Qormi respectively, were allegedly complicit in stealing the fuel from the Marsa petrol station.

The 21-year-old from Cospicua also drove a car without a licence.
