PA decision not to allow demolition of old Sliema house welcomed

The group Flimkien għal Ambjent Aħjar has said it welcomes the Planning Authority’s decision not to grant permission for the demolishing of a 19th Century house in Sliema.

FAA said last October it had launched an internet campaign for members of the public to voice their views to the Authority regarding an application to demolish the house in Triq Stella Maris.

It was being proposed the house be replaced by a five-storey block of apartments and although the proposal stipulated the facade would be retained, the FAA maintained the rest of the building would be destroyed.
