A Transport Foundation has been launched the scope of which is to gather under one entity the different units in this sector. Representatives of Transport Malta, the Chamber for Medium and Small Enterprises, MCAST, the Employers’ Association and Malta Enterprise, signed the agreement.
This was in the presence of President Dr George Vella who said the aim is to address the future of transport as well as upgrading in the sector to enable a direct effect on social and economic matters. The President urged that all should keep in mind obligations to safeguard the heritage of nature so as to have a sustainable impact which is clean and healthy.
The Minister for Transport, Ian Borg, said this is a philosophy that should be promoted while he explained how the Foundation will continue to help in improving this sector. He also urged the public to consider alternative means of transport to personal vehicles.
