Controversy over debate between the PM and PN Leader

Against a background of electoral campaigning, a controversy has broken out over a debate between Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and Nationalist Party Leader Adrian Delia.

In a statement the PN said that Dr Muscat is depriving the people from a debate for which he was invited on the TVM programme ‘Xarabank’. The statement continued this despite that it was Dr Muscat himself who had created a Presidential-style election campaign between Dr Delia and himself.

The PM said he had agreed to participate in two debates, one which had taken place in the programme ‘Xtra’ and the other being the Broadcasting Authority’s debate to be held this Wednesday, on the eve of the end of the electoral campaign.

Meanwhile, the edition of ‘Xarabank’ will be a discussion between representatives of the two main political parties.
