Traditional Maltese crib to be exhibited in Vienna
The traditional Maltese crib will be on exhibit at the Christmas market at the University of Vienna campus.
Because of the venue and the possibility of snow, the crib will require some structural changes. The crib will be inaugurated by President George Vella next week.
Culture Minister Owen Bonnici said that this is an opportunity for our country to increase awareness about Malta and show the skills of Matese artists at this Christmas market which is visited by around 600,000 Austrians.
He added that this crib has already been set up in the most prominent places in the world including St Peter’s square at the Vatican and in Bethlehem and he thanked the Maltese ambassador to Austria Natasha Meli Daudey.
A Maltese choir will be singing Christmas songs in Maltese near the crib at the end of next week.
