UPDATED: Triq Burmarrad closed following motorbike incident

A motorcyclist has been hospitalised after he collided with a vehicle in Triq Burmarrad, Burmarrad, at about 6.15 pm. The collision was between a Kawaski bike and a Toyota vehicle.

The motorcyclist is a 21-year-old from St Paul’s Bay.

Police went on the spot to direct traffic while an ambulance conveyed the biker to Mater Dei Hospital. His condition is not as yet known but he probably suffered grievous injuries.

It is understood the road had to be closed both ways.
