Two charged with murder of journalist Lyra McKee in Northern Ireland

Two men are being charged with murdering journalist Lyra McKee, 29, who was killed two and a half years ago in Northern Ireland.  McKee was covering the riots in Derry on 18 April 2019, when she was a hit by gunshots.

The men, aged 21 and 33, are also being charged with possession of a gun and ammunition with the intention of endangering life, with rioting, with possession of petrol bombs and of throwing the bombs as well as of theft.

Another man, aged 20, is being charged with rioting, possession of petrol bombs and of throwing them.

The three accused are expected to be arraigned in front of the Magistrates Court in Derry later on today.
