Two elderly people die who had tested positive for Covid-19

The Ministry of Health has announced that two elderly people, aged 72 and 82 respectively, who had tested positive for Covid-19, died last night.

In the first case, a woman, aged 72, was admitted to Mater Dei on 26 September and was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on 5 October. She was kept for treatment at the hospital where she died last night.

In the second case, a man, aged 82, was confirmed positive for Covid-19 on 12 October. He was admitted to Mater Dei on 13 October and was transferred to St Thomas hospital on 16 October. When his condition took a turn for the worse he was transferred back to Mater Dei where he died last night.

The two people both had underlying health conditions.
