Two Maltese-Canadian films to be shown on TVM

Two new films by Ċittadella Films, in a co-production with Canada, are going to be shown on  Television Malta. The two films have been given a helping hand by Maltese professionals so that they will also be shown internationally.

The Red Dress and A Dangerous Arrangement have a strong link to Malta.  The director and producer Mario Philip Azzopardi  was involved in in writing the scripts for both films and even directed one of them,  A Dangerous Arrangement. After the success if  Saul – The Journey to Damascus by Cittadella Films, Mario Philip Azzopardi told that the secret for a Maltese film to be successful is for it to be a co-production.

The two films have a popular cast which includes John Rhys Davies whom we saw in the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Rachel Skarsten fresh from her success in Fifty Shades of Grey and Sean Maguire who has worked on Once Upon a Time and Eastenders. There are also Maltese actors like Davide Tucci who has one of the leading roles in  A Dangerous Arrangement. But where does the Maltese element come into it?

The Red Dress is the story of a couple who comes to Malta to start a new life after experiencing a tragedy which shook their world. A Dangerous Arrangement, which also has Malta as its backdrop,  tells the story of a girl who finds herself in a web of intrigue after the father of one of her friends starts to plot revenge after the death of his daughter.

The two films will be shown on Television Malta this coming Saturday and the Saturday after that.
