U.S.A: Police officer who kneel pressed on Floyd’s neck arrested – protests spread
Derek Chauvin, a former police officer in Minneapolis in the U.S., was arrested and accused with the murder of George Floyd, a 46-year old Afro-American, while he was in police custody.
44-year old Chauvin, who is white, appeared in a 10-minute footage, kneeling and pressing on Floyd’s neck while the latter was being arrested. Chauvin and three other police officers were dismissed from the force. He is expected to appear in Court on Monday.
Meanwhile, protests which started in Minneapolis following the killing of Floyd, spread to other states, including New York, Kentucky and Georgia where protesters set objects on fire in roads. They called for justice to be done on George Floyd murder.
