U.S. apologizes for Kabul drone attack that killed 10 persons – 7 were children
The United States admitted that it attacked the wrong car and mistakenly killed 10 persons in a Kabul drone strike on the 29th August, shortly before American troops left Afghanistan.
U .S. general Kenneth McKenzie said that this was a tragic error and delivered condolences to the victims’ relatives.
The U.S. had defended the attack maintaining that the vehicle concerned was a threat as it was carrying persons suspected of a suicide attack at Kabul’s airport.
Seven of the 10 victims in the attack were children.
