The mercury is going up. Summer is literally around the corner, and the weather is getting better… and hotter.
The temperature also went up in Swindon, in the UK. In the past hours, a resident of Swindon went into town to purchase summer wear and took his dog, a 14-week-old terrier. When he got to town, the man got out of the car and left the dog locked up inside, in the unbearable heat.
When the owner left the shop he found two Police officers waiting for him near the car, with one of the officers cuddling the dog. The car windows had been shattered.
On-site witnesses said that whilst the dog’s owner was doing his shopping, a man in the parking lot noticed the dog locked inside and suffering from the heat, and without a second thought smashed the windows to allow the dog to get some air. After which, he continued on his way.
A Police Inspector warned the dog’s owner against a repeat, pointing out that dogs can’t stand the heat.
Meanwhile, the Police said they would not be taking any further action, not even against the man who shattered the car windows to save the dog.
