Unemployment rate drops: less than 4,000 are out of work

In July, the unemployment rate fell. There are now less than 4,000 people who are out of work.

This emerged from figures published by the National Statistics Office which show that compared to the previous month there were almost 300 fewer people registering for work, when compared to July last year there were 2,300 more job seekers.

Unemployment rose most among those who had been registering for work for less than 21 weeks, while there was a decline among those who had been looking for work for more than a year.

The number of unemployed people with disabilities has increased by 30 when compared to July last year. Most of them are registering for work and most of them are looking for clerical work.
