UP-DATED: 20 people killed in an ISIS attack in the Turkish town of Suruc

An explosion carried out by ISIS militants in a cultural centre in the Turkish southern town of Suruc has killed around 20 people.

20 other people were reported injured in the explosion in the town close to the Syrian border.

The explosive devise went off in the garden of the Amara cultural centre, near the Syrian town of Kobane.  At that time there were around 300 delegates representing youth organizations at the centre.

In the past months, hundreds of refugees fled to Suruc after heavy fighting in Kobane.  The Syrian town has been the centre of fighting between Islamic State militants and Kurdish fighterss since last September when the militants entered the town while hundreds of residents escaped from the war zone into Turkey.
