UPDATED: Man in danger of dying following collision in St Paul’s Bay

A 64-year-old man is in danger of dying after being involved in a head-on collision in St Paul’s Bay. The accident occurred in Għajn Tuffieħa Road at about 11.00 a.m. this morning.

The Police stated the collision involved a Yamaha motorcycle which was being driven by the 64-year-old man, a resident of Rabat, and a Toyota Tercel vehicle being driven by a 59-year-old man from Imġarr.

The motorcyclist was transferred to Mater Dei hospital by ambulance, and was later certified to be in danger of dying. An inquiry into the accident was opened by the Duty Magistrate.

The road in the direction of St Paul’s Bay had to be closed to traffic.
