UPDATED: Part of tent at Lidl in Mosta collapses, balcony falls on cars during whirlwind

The strong winds which hit the Maltese islands last night caused some damage in parts of Mosta and Naxxar. Part of the tent at the Lidl supermarket in Mosta was ripped off as were some wires. No one was injured in the incident.  Many trees were also uprooted in Naxxar.

In other parts of Mosta, in Triq l-1 Novembru, 1950, a 100 foot wall collapsed and in Triq l-Għadajjar in Mosta a balcony also collapsed and fell on two cars

It is reported that the two people who were in one of the cars refused to go to the hospital as they were not injured. Members from the Civil Protection Department were called to various areas in Mosta to provide assistance.
