Video footing shows Ursula von der Leyen left standing while EU Council President Charles Michel and Erdogan sat on chairs in the middle of the chamber.
She is seen making hand gestures and requesting where she is to be seated. Eventually, she was invited to sit on a sofa alongside the Turkish Foreign Affairs Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, who holds a lower diplomatic status.
