US regulators approve medicine for Covid patients

US regulators have approved the use of the anti-viral medicine rem-de-sivir for hospital patients who are sick with Covid-19 in hospitals.

The Food and Drug Administration in the US (FDA) saiid that after analysis and clinical exams it was found that medicine speeds up the process of recovery by five days.

This is the first treatment which has received the blessing of the FDA. However, last week the WHO said that rem-de-sivir has a minimum effect on patients who are ill with the Coronavirus. This statement was immediately refuted by the manufacturers of the medicine, Gilead.
