As Valletta 2018 is approaching, the impact on the restaurants industry in Valletta is already being felt. This year six new restaurants opened in Valletta city.
Restaurant owners and persons close to the industry told tvm.com.mt that the service and variety of food offered by the Maltese restaurants are also contributing to notable improvements.
Denise Briffa, coordinator of the specialist magazine on restaurants – The Definitively Good Guide – told tvm.com.mt that a survey among restaurant clients showed that Valletta is the most sought after destination for good food in a beautiful environment.
“This means a lot for tourism and tourists of certain quality; local people also frequently visit Valletta – there are many cultural activities and once in the city, they eat as well”, Ms Briffa added.
Keith Seychell, owner of a newly opened restaurant, said: “I chose Valletta because next year
it will be Valletta 2018 which will see strong business in Valletta, and the position Capo Crudo has is the beautiful scenery of Manoel Island and Sliema. The most important thing for a restaurant is its position”.
Seychell’s restaurant was one of the restaurants awarded in the 18th edition for best restaurants award, organized by The Definitively Good Guide. The selection of the best restaurant in various categories is made through to comments expressed by clients who ate at the restaurants.
