Valletta Carmelites recall 125th anniversary of elevation of Carmelite Sanctuary to Minor Basilica

Covid-19 has disrupted a number of feasts, but Valletta residents and Maltese Carmelites still recall the historic 125th anniversary of when the Basilica Sanctuary of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was elevated to the dignity of Minor Basilica and adorned with various insignia.

This anniversary is not forgotten by the Valletta residents and the Maltese Carmelites. Despite the disruption caused by Covid-19, the Carmelite community in Valletta will broadcast live transmissions on its Facebook page Carmelite Priory Valletta from 6.00 p.m. onwards.
