Video: Aircraft crashes in Texas – all passengers and crew manage to escape
An aircraft carrying 21 persons crashed shortly after take-off from Houston Airport in Texas.
The 18 passengers on the plane, as well as three crew members, managed to save themselves. The aircraft, which had only reached a height of some 150 metres, caught fire on impact.
Only one person sustained injuries, and according to reports these were of a slight nature.
The flight was a direct flight to Boston for passengers to watch a baseball game between Houston Astros and Boston Red Sox. The aircraft was a McDonnell Douglas MD-87 and could carry 130 passengers.
