The Chairman of Juventus, Andrea Agnelli, said that the European Super League cannot continue after six major English teams withdrew their participation from this controversial competition.
Asked whether this project can continue, Agnelli, one of the founders of this European football competition categorically said that it cannot happen.
Last Sunday, 12 major European clubs announced the setting up of the Super League, however 48 hours after harsh criticism and huge opposition from various politicians, six English teams have decided to withdraw.
Agnelli said he remains convinced that European football needs a change and that he has no regrets about the way they tried to set up this new competitions.
“I am convinced about the beauty of this project” said Agnelli while saying that this could have created the best football competition in the world.
“However I admit….I cannot see how this project can continue.”
