VIDEO: Four new Judges take oath of office

The four new Judges, who have been appointed for the first time by the President of Malta following the unanimous advice the President was given by the Committee for Appointments to the Judiciary, were sworn in this morning at the Presidential Palace.

Judges Audrey Demicoli, Christian Falzon Scerri, Ian Spiteri Bailey and Neville Camilleri were sworn in at San Anton Palace.

A total of 29 persons had expressed interest in being appointed Judges following a public call issued in February, and the candidates were evaluated by the Committee for Appointments to the Judiciary, which presented a report with its recommendations to President George Vella.

The new Judges took their oath of office in the presence of Prime Minister Robert Abela, Justice Minister Edward Zammit Lewis, Attorney General Victoria Buttigieg, State Advocate Chris Soler and Chief Justice Mark Chetcuti, as well family members of the new Judges.
