Vision for first National Housing system in Malta is launched

The Minister for Social Accommodation Roderick Galdes has launched the vision for the first National Housing system in Malta. More than 50 stakeholders gathered around a table to draft this new system.

Minister Galdes said that the decision to hold this consultation to create this new holistic system was spurred by the vision of the Government which, despite making important advances in the housing sector in our country, will not stop there because it wants this sector not only to cater for the needs of today’s generation but it also has to be future-proof.

The consultation is being done among other things for academics from the Faculty of Architecture and the Wellbeing of Society within the University of Malta, the Malta Developers’ Association, the Richmond Foundation, YMCA and others.

The consultation for this housing stem was also extended to foreign Professors with a vast experience in the drafting of housing policy.
