Following the dumping of photocopiers at Għar Ħassan, now refuse bins have been stolen
Following the dumping of industrial photocopiers at Għar Ħassan two weeks ago, it became known yesterday that refuse bins that had been installed to prevent the wilful discarding of refuse, have been stolen.
This is a zone that is often a target for vandals as well as for people dumping all kinds of refuse, particularly at night. In fact last year a large volume of burnt oil was dumped there.
Residents and volunteers who often help to clean up the area have appealed for increased security to help curb abuse. The Minister for Tourism, Julia Farrugia Portelli, has now announced that security cameras are to be affixed in the area.
