Watch: 276 migrants awaiting permission to disembark on land

A ship with 276 immigrants which were rescued in the Mediterranean are currently in limbo, waiting to be allowed to enter a port.

The Spanish rescue ship, Open Arms, picked up the immigrants from small boats in three different operations.

In a statement, the NGO said the first group of 83 were rescued on September 8, and while they were waiting for permission to enter a port, 193 people were seized in two other rescue operations.

Shipowners are requesting the ship be allowed to enter a port.
