WATCH: Appeal by nurse Rachel Grech who received the second Covid vaccine dose this morning

The second dose of the anti-Covid-19 vaccination rollout started being administered this morning to the first group of health professionals who on Sunday 27th December had received the first dose.

Similar to what happened 21 days ago, nurse Rachel Grech from the Infective Disease Unit was given the second dose at 8.00am. She spoke with about how she continued working during the past three weeks at the hospital and feels healthy. The nurse reiterated the appeal to the public to follow the health authorities directive on the prevention of the virus spread and to eventually receive the vaccine.

Mater Dei hospital’s medical director, Dr Walter Busuttil, said that between 250 to 300 vaccines are being administered daily at the hospital, adding that by next Wednesay the hospital’s clinical staff, that is all those in direct contact with patients, will  be inoculated with the first dose.
