The accident game in a busy day for the ferry company when a great number of Maltese were waiting for the ferry to start their Easter holidays in Gozo. Gozo Channel has been operating a shuttle service since this morning with three ferries as a result of a substantial increase in passengers. As the ferry services was on two ships until the ramp mechanism was back in place a long queue of vehicles gathered at the Ċirkewwa area.
When the ramp got stuck, the assistance was requested of a crane on site to place it back so that the ship’s door could be closed and it could continue to operate. The operation took around three hours and the ship had to turn so that vehicles could board on it from the other end of the ferry. The ferry will continue with its service so that Gozo Channel can meet with the passengers’ demand.
