The U.S. House of Representatives is formally accusing former President Donald Trump of instigating riots in the U.S. that left five dead.
On Monday, nine representatives who will be prosecutors at the trial, brought before the Senate accusations that Trump instigated the riot during a speech he made to his supporters.
The trial is set to begin on February 9, and is Trump’s second impeachment. One hundred senators will serve as judges in the jury that could lead to Trump being disqualified from ever running again in a presidential election.
The charges brought before the Senate follow the vote taken in the House of Representatives on January 13, in which 10 Republican MPs joined the group of Democrats in support of Trump’s impeachment.
